This long, thin country’s capital, Oslo, is too far south of the Arctic Circle to see the aurora borealis. So it’s to northern Norway you should head, and Tromsø is firmly in the middle of the aurora zone. This is peak Northern Lights viewing territory, and there are plenty of tours organized for visitors hoping for a glimpse. The Northern lights are always happening, it’s just that you don’t see them during the day. While the Arctic Circle’s midnight sun makes it impossible to see them during the summer, the long dark nights of winter are perfect for Northern Lights viewing. Lets hunt this .
Day 1: Arrive at Tromso
Arrive at Tromso, Meet the local representative and transfer to your pre booked hotel. Day is at free. In this modern city in the Arctic, nature and culture go hand in hand. Tromsø has many activities on offer, from an aquarium and several quality museums to the world’s northernmost botanical garden. The city is also a popular place to observe the majestic phenomenon of the northern light.
Day 2: Tromso
Breakfast at hotel.Go for Whale and Seabird Safari by Boat from Tromso to Whale Island. Hop aboard your boat in coastal Tromsø then cruise out onto the rolling waves with your guide to begin your tour. With mineral-filled waters rich in herring and plankton, the coast of Tromsø in northern Norway is widely considered among the best areas in the region for spotting whales. During your tour, cruise out to Whale Island and listen as your guide explains the diverse sea life swimming beneath the waves. Along the way, watch the waters for sightings of curious humpback and killer whales, and keep your eyes on the skies overhead for sea eagles and other birds. Capture the action on camera from your vantage point on board, or watch the wildlife from the comfort of the saloon or lounge. Day 3: Oslo
Breakfast at hotel. Day is free to go for an optional activities.. Ice fishing is a very popular winter activity and is a great way to try your fishing luck. If the fish bites your heart rate will increase. It’s always exciting to see what is on the hook. This is a perfect activity for families out in the wilderness.Equipped with an ice drill, fishing rods and lures we go out on a frozen lake containing trouts. When the fish bites, you won’t have to worry about keeping it fresh, it can become a part of your lunch this day.
In Evening go for Northern Lights Husky Visit. On this tour you will be picked up at 18.45 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, we kindly ask you to be at the pick up point 15 minutes before departure. After a 30-minute bus ride, you will arrive at our facilities and you will be welcomed by our lovely guides and Huskies. You will be provided with boots and warm overalls. You’re welcome to take shelter around the fire in our wilderness camp at any point if you want to warm up a bit. During the visit we gather around the fire and serve our hearty meal of Bacalao, local Stock fish (cod) prepared with tomato sauce (vegetarian meal available upon request).
Day 4:Tromso – Oslo
Breakfast at hotel, check out and get transfer to Airport. Board the flight to Helsinki. Meet our local representative and transfer to your prebooked hotel. Day is at free to explore the nearby areas.
Day 5: Oslo
Breakfast at hotel.Enhance your experience of Oslo on a comprehensive 2-hour sightseeing tour of the Norwegian capital. With a knowledgeable guide, stop at significant attractions like Vigeland Park and Holmenkollen Ski Jump while gaining fascinating insight into the city’s rich historical heritage. Marvel at the incredible bronze and granite sculptures of Gustav Vigeland and absorb sweeping vistas of the pretty city from the vertiginous vantage point of the ski jump. Then, explore the city center by coach, cruising past monuments like Oslo Cathedral and Akershus Castle, while listening to interesting commentary.
Fjords Sight seeings.For visitors to Oslo wishing to see a bit more of the city’s summer life such as the swimming and sailing, this two hour tour through narrow sounds, idyllic bays and a maze of islands with pretty summer houses is highly recommended. Refreshments are available on board the boat but are not included in the price of the tour.
Day 6 :Oslo – Homebound
Breakfast at hotel. Check out and get transfer to airport and board the flight back to India.
