It’s fitting that harbourside Helsinki, capital of a country with such watery geography, melds so graciously into the Baltic. Half the city seems liquid, and the writhings of the complex coastline include any number of bays, inlets and islands.
Though Helsinki can seem a younger sibling to other Scandinavian capitals, it’s the one that went to art school, scorns pop music and works in a cutting-edge studio. The design scene here is legendary, whether you’re browsing showroom brands or taking the backstreet hipster trail. The city’s gourmet side is also flourishing, with new gastro eateries offering locally sourced tasting menus popping up at dizzying speed.
Nevertheless, much of what is lovable in Helsinki is older. Its understated yet glorious art-nouveau buildings, the spacious elegance of its centenarian cafes, dozens of museums carefully preserving Finnish heritage, restaurants that have changed neither menu nor furnishings since the 1930s: all part of the city’s quirky charm.
Day 01 : Welcome to Lapland
Arrive Rovaniemi airport. Meet, greet & transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the city.
Day 02 : Arktikum & Meet the reindeer & visit the Arctic Circle, Santa’s Village
Breakfast at hotel. Morning enjoy the short walk to safari club to obtain the thermal clothing. Departure by Snowmobile (2 people per Snowmobile) to the reindeer farm. In Reindeer farm, learn about Lappish culture and reindeer husbandry. Everyone who passes a reindeer-driving test will be issued an international reindeer driver’s license and have the possibility of participating in a special Lapp ceremony of crossing the Arctic Circle. Enjoy a cup of hot coffee or berry juice before driving further to Arktikum. Arktikum museum – guided tour through the exhibitions of provincial museum and the science centre (EUR 12 per person entrance fees additional). Transfer to Santa Claus Village and meet Santa Claus. Visit in Santa’s main post office, time for shopping. Transfer back to hotel.
Day 03 : Arctic Zoo & Aurora Borealis hunting
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Northern most Zoos in the world – Ranua. Drive takes about 45 mins from Rovaniemi. Guided tour through the Zoo, see the polar bear – most exciting artic animal. Lunch on own. Time to visit the candy & Souvenir shops of the area. Return to hotel. Afternoon transfer to Aurora hunting venue. Walk down to ariver experiencing the surrounding sleeping nature. Reach the best spot to have a beautiful view. Watch the aurora loves playing hide-and-seek. Transfer back to hotel,
Day 04 : Meet the huskies, time for leisure
Breakfast at hotel. Morning take a short walk through the sites of the snowmobile safari & will take to the husky farm. At the farm, l meet the husky dogs and have a short husky ride on sledges pulled by huskies. After the ride, have a coffee break in a kota and hear more about the life at the farm. Later return to hotel. Lunch on own. Rest of the free at leisure.
Day 05 : Rovaniemi – Helsinki – Evening cruise Helsinki
Breakfast at hotel. Private transfer to Rovaniemi airport to board the flight to Helsinki Arrive Helsinki and transfer to Hotel. Evening Enjoy the Helsinki evening cruises. On the canal cruise, see the most beautiful shorelines of Helsinki and many fabulous sights, including the historic Suomenlinna Maritime Fortress, Helsinki Zoo on Korkeasaari Island, the impressive fleet of icebreakers and ofcourse the Degero Canal. Along the way, hear about Helsinki’s facinating history. Later return to hotel.
Day 06 : City tour Helsinki
Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy the major sights of Helsinki. Sightseeing tour takes to most important and interesting parts of Helsinki, such as the historical centre and the diplomatic quarters. Senate Square, Lutheran Cathedral, Uspenski Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, City Hall, the Parliament building, Finlandia Hall and the Opera House. We also make a stop at the ‘Sibelius Monument and Temppeliaukio Church. Stop at the Sibelius Monument. Afternoon free at leisure.
Day 07 : Depart Helsinki
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Helsinki airport for flight to back home.
